Providing school supplies access, preparing children for consistent classroom participation

The Backpack–School Supplies Drive collects backpacks, school supplies, and toys that are distributed to children for the school year and during the Christmas season. Items typically include basic materials such as notebooks, pencils, and other essentials needed for daily school use. Donations can be made either by providing physical items or by sponsoring a backpack through a fixed contribution. A $25 donation is used to prepare one complete backpack for a child. Collected items are organized and packed before being distributed through the organization’s outreach efforts.

Gio’s House of Hope and Restoration operates this drive from Plantation, Florida, with physical drop-off locations available, including 1200 SW 3rd Street, Pompano Beach, Florida 33069. Donors can choose to drop off backpacks directly or contribute financially to sponsor one. Once collected, supplies are prepared and distributed to children served by the organization in Haiti and the Philippines. Distribution timing depends on school schedules and seasonal outreach periods.
